An Inclusive Community
-
It's really, really important that we all do our part to make this a safe place for everybody. So that means that we won't tolerate racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, classism, ableism, or any other forms of oppression in this community.
I also want to address that throughout the material available on this site, I'll be mostly using the term “pregnant people” because many of my pregnant clients and members of this community aren't women or just don't identify with the term woman. So saying pregnant people doesn't exclude women, it just makes space for all people's experiences.
So please respect your fellow community members by respecting each person's pronouns, the words they use for their body parts, their choice of birth place, and any other decisions that they make.
And if you ever experience any form of discrimination, please let me know by contacting me at marea@preganttogether.com.
Community Agreements
-
I know that sometimes the relative anonymity of the internet can result in people feeling more comfortable to express their feelings/opinions in unkind ways. Please help make this a safe space for everybody and lead with kindness.
-
In this community, we have people planning homebirths, birth center births, hospital births, planned c sections, and free births. My goal is that all people feel at home here and feel like they have all the information they need to make the choices that are best for them. Please respect other people’s choices and know that their decision has nothing to do with yours.
-
Part of making this a safe space is respecting other people’s experiences and not sharing anything outside of this community without their explicit permission.
-
I care deeply about making PregnantTogether a safe place for people with all different experiences. And I know that for some heterosexual/cisgender people, using they/them or other pronouns is new. Please try your best to use the requested pronouns for your fellow community members.
-
This is a community space and not a place to sell or promote any products or services outside of PregnantTogether. If you would like to be considered to lead a webinar or other workshop, or want to partner with PregnantTogether in a more business-y sense, please email me directly at marea@pregnanttogether.com.
-
If you break any of these agreements, you’ll receive a warning. If it happens again, you will be barred from participating in the community.

In order to best protect everyone who attends the live events, PregnantTogether reserves the right to remove any participant whose comments or behavior are disruptive or inappropriate. By attending the live events you agree to participate as a productive and respectful member of the conversation.
Most of the live webinars will be open to people outside of the PregnantTogether community as well, and we will ask all participants to follow these guidelines.
