Book Reading and Q&A with Marea

  • Diversity Center of Santa Cruz 1117 Soquel Avenue Santa Cruz, CA, 95062 United States (map)

Join me in person for a discussion and celebration of my recently published book, an inclusive, straightforward guide to fertility hailed as "What to Expect Before You're Expecting for families outside the heterosexual nuclear family model--perfect for LGBTQ+ and solo parents who want to have kids but don't know where to start."

Baby Making for Everybody is a how-to guide and a celebration of the many ways that people create families outside of the traditional heterosexual-nuclear-family model. Combining a step-by-step guide with personal narratives, this book offers prospective parents a blueprint for how to grow their families and to feel supported in the process.

Please RSVP so the Diversity Center knows how many to plan for!

In “Baby Making for Everybody,” Ray Rachlin and I use our professional expertise as queer millennial midwives to demystify the dizzying process of pursuing parenthood as queer and solo people, offering detailed, gender-affirming, body-positive advice on topics including:

  • Fertility tracking for people with uteruses

  • Choosing a sperm donor, egg donor, or surrogate

  • Legal considerations for LGBTQ+ families

  • Navigating pregnancy and gender identity

  • IUI, ICI, and IVF procedures

  • Foster parenting and adoption

  • Miscarriage and infertility

Join Marea for an intimate event centered on supporting non-traditional families, and learn about the other ways that Marea supports people at all stages of the family-building process.
